44th Most Memorable FIFA World Cup Moment: Argentina's Controversial 6-0 Win

One of the most controversial games in World Cup history and also one of its biggest unsolved mysteries. Hosts Argentina needed to beat a very good Peru side 4-0 in the final game of the 2nd Round to reach the final at rival Brazil's expense. They romped to a 6-0 win... after Peru had only given up 6 goals in their previous 5 games. Was it fixed? A lot of signs point to it. Peru's goalkeeper was born in Argentina, and several of Peru's players have since admitted that "they felt pressure from the government to lose the game." Argentina go on to win the Cup but the legitimacy of the title still remains the subject of contention to this day.
